Venezuelan Migrant Arrested for TikTok Squatting Guide

Leonel Moreno, a Venezuelan TikTok influencer who advised migrants on how to squat in unoccupied U.S. homes, was reportedly a sergeant in Venezuela's military intelligence. Moreno crossed into the U.S. illegally in April 2022 and was released under 'catch and release' policies but failed to comply with ICE check-ins. He gained notoriety with videos promoting illegal immigration and squatting, amassing over 500,000 followers before his account was removed. In March, ICE arrested Moreno in Ohio, and since then, authorities have struggled to confirm details about his past due to Venezuela's lack of cooperation. Moreno remains in custody, awaiting an immigration hearing, and has not caused issues while jailed.
