Georgia Finalizes Presidential Ballot With Six Candidates
Georgia's Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger has finalized the presidential ballot, allowing independent candidates Cornel West and Claudia De la Cruz, alongside Green Party nominee Jill Stein, to appear. This decision comes despite a prior ruling from an administrative law judge that deemed them ineligible due to filing errors. Raffensperger ruled that independent Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is not qualified after he withdrew from the race and endorsed Donald Trump. The Democratic Party criticized Raffensperger's move, claiming it undermines election rules and may pursue further legal action. If upheld, the ballot will include six candidates, marking the first time since 1948 that Georgia voters will have more than four choices for president. The voter registration deadline is October 7, with early voting starting on October 15.
