Iranian Hackers Target Biden, Trump Campaigns

Google has reported that an Iranian hacking group linked to the Revolutionary Guard has targeted the personal email accounts of individuals associated with President Joe Biden, former President Donald Trump, and Vice President Kamala Harris since May. The group's phishing campaign has focused on high-profile political figures and campaign affiliates, successfully breaching the accounts of a political consultant and sending phishing emails from compromised accounts. This activity aligns with a Microsoft report revealing similar cyber intrusions aimed at U.S. presidential campaigns. Google has implemented measures to block these attacks and warned potential targets of unauthorized access attempts. While the Trump campaign confirmed being hacked, the Biden-Harris campaign has stated it has not experienced security breaches, despite ongoing threats.
