Baldwin's case was dismissed due to 'egregious prosecutorial misconduct,' including the concealment of crucial evidence about live ammunition. Gutierrez-Reed’s legal team argues that the same misconduct affected her trial, citing withheld evidence and misleading statements by Special Prosecutor Kari Morrissey. Her motion also calls for her immediate release from prison and the removal of Morrissey from the case. Baldwin’s charges were dropped after revelations that key evidence had been intentionally hidden, which Gutierrez-Reed's team contends equally compromised her trial.
