Passenger Detained for Bomb Joke at Airport

A 42-year-old passenger, Manoj Kumar, was detained at Cochin International Airport after asking a CISF officer, 'Is there any bomb in my bag?' during a security check for his Air India flight to Mumbai. This comment raised immediate concerns, prompting a thorough inspection by the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS), which found no threats. Kumar was subsequently handed over to local authorities for further questioning, while the flight continued on schedule. Airport officials emphasized that any mention of bombs or threats is taken very seriously, as it can lead to significant delays and legal consequences. A similar incident earlier this year involved a passenger arrested for making a false bomb threat over a scheduling issue.
