Odisha Man Arrested for Job Scam
Ramesh Chandra Rout from Kendrapara district was arrested in Odisha for allegedly defrauding job seekers by posing as the brother-in-law of former BJD leader V K Pandian, collecting approximately Rs 65 lakh under false pretenses of securing government jobs. The arrest was made by Mathili police following several complaints from victims who reported that Rout neither provided the promised jobs nor returned their money. Additionally, a BJD Zilla Parishad member, Sasmita Majhi, and another associate have been implicated in the scheme, and a manhunt is underway for them. The investigation revealed that Rout had a history of similar fraudulent activities, warranting further scrutiny of his operations. Authorities are urging other victims to come forward as they pursue the investigation.
