The European Union and Serbia have signed a new agreement aimed at boosting investments in raw materials, including lithium supply and production chains, to attract more firms to invest in Serbia. The deal focuses on creating a level playing field for market integration, opening new opportunities for European investment. The memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed between Serbia and the EU emphasizes closer ties in sustainable raw materials, battery production chains, and electric vehicles (EVs), supporting the development of new industries and high-quality jobs while addressing environmental and social standards. This partnership, aligned with the EU's New Growth plan for the Western Balkans, signifies a step towards Serbia's integration within the EU's single market and enhancing economic, social, and environmental convergence with the EU.
