Indian Navy Recovers Wreckage of Missing Cessna 152
The Indian Navy has successfully recovered the wreckage of a Cessna-152 training aircraft that crashed into Chandil Dam on August 20, shortly after takeoff from Sonari Aerodrome. The aircraft, owned by Alchemist Aviation, was located at a depth of approximately 180 feet, and recovery efforts faced challenges due to marshy conditions. The bodies of the two pilots, 19-year-old trainee Subhrojeet Dutta and 30-year-old instructor Jeet Satru Anand, were previously recovered on August 22. The Navy utilized hot air balloons to assist in lifting the wreckage, which was finally retrieved on August 25. This recovery is crucial for investigating the crash's cause and providing closure to the victims' families. The local community remains in shock as they mourn the loss of the two young aviators.
