Man gets life imprisonment

A series of recent court rulings have led to life imprisonment sentences for several individuals convicted of murder. In Kanpur, Sunil Kushwaha was sentenced for killing his wife, with a fine of Rs 50,000, as the prosecution presented compelling evidence from his daughter. Meanwhile, three men in Chandigarh received life sentences for the 2018 murder of Mohammad Alim, with each fined Rs 2.20 lakh, after they kidnapped and killed him on behalf of his wife's lover. In Maharajganj, six individuals were convicted for a 25-year-old murder case, receiving life sentences and fines of Rs 19,000 each. Lastly, Sachindra Nath Tripathi was sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of his wife Poonam in 2020, alongside a fine of Rs 20,000, with evidence of prolonged harassment presented during the trial. These cases highlight ongoing issues of domestic violence and the legal system's response to such crimes across India.
