Van Zandt expressed skepticism about the accuracy of Forbes' report but insists that money has not played a significant role in Springsteen's life since the 1984 album 'Born in the USA'. He humorously noted that regardless of the bank balance, it doesn't change the essence of what they do. Springsteen has previously shared his discomfort with newfound wealth, feeling it distanced him from his roots in New Jersey.
