FEMA Disaster Recovery Center
FEMA has opened Disaster Recovery Centers in southern Trigg and Christian counties, Kentucky, to assist residents affected by a tornado on May 26. The centers in Hopkinsville and Cadiz will operate from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. until August 10, providing support for applications and information on disaster assistance, including financial aid for home repairs and low-interest loans. In Florida, the Disaster Recovery Center at the LeRoy Collins Leon County Library will reopen on August 6 to help survivors of the May 10 storms, with applications accepted until August 19, 2024. In Eastern Kentucky, a temporary center in Corbin will also assist residents seeking FEMA aid this week. All centers aim to guide applicants through the services available and facilitate the application process for disaster relief. Those affected can apply online, through the FEMA app, or by calling the designated helpline.
