Gregory is currently involved in a lawsuit against the NFL and the Denver Broncos, claiming discrimination for being fined $532,500 due to his use of THC medication prescribed for social anxiety and PTSD, which violates league policy. Despite the NFL no longer suspending players for positive THC tests, it remains a banned substance subject to fines. The lawsuit argues that the league and the Broncos denied him necessary accommodations under Colorado law. In Gregory's absence, the Buccaneers may rely more heavily on younger pass rushers as they adjust their defensive lineup.
