Global Heat Records Continue to Break

The Earth experienced its hottest days on record this week, with global average temperatures reaching unprecedented levels. According to the European Union's Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S), Sunday set a new record at 62.76°F (17.09°C), which was surpassed by Monday at 62.8°F (17.16°C). Although Tuesday's temperature slightly decreased to 62.87°F (17.16°C), it still ranked as one of the hottest days. Experts, including C3S Director Carlo Buontempo, emphasize that these back-to-back records signify a concerning trend and reflect the ongoing climate crisis. The absence of an El Niño event this year highlights the severity of the situation. This persistent rise in temperature underscores the urgency for meaningful action to address climate change.
