Child kidnapping in Queens
Wayne Noel, a 64-year-old man suspected of abducting and sexually assaulting a 9-year-old girl from a Queens supermarket, died in a car crash while fleeing from police. The incident occurred after Noel forcibly removed the girl from the Key Food store while her grandmother was in the restroom, subsequently assaulting her twice before abandoning her on the street. Police attempted to pull him over the following day, but he fled, running a stop sign and crashing into another vehicle, leading to his serious injuries. Despite emergency efforts, Noel was pronounced dead at New York-Presbyterian Hospital shortly after the crash. The girl was hospitalized and is receiving care, while investigators continue to process the harrowing case that has shocked the local community.
