Prime Minister Narendra Modi has visited Assam for two days to inaugurate and lay foundation stones for development projects amounting to over INR 11599 crore ($1.5bn). The projects include the Maa Kamakhya Divya Pariyojana, which aims to provide enhanced amenities for visitors to the Kamakhya temple. He also laid foundation stones for multiple road upgrade projects, including 43 new roads and 38 bridges at a total cost of INR 3,444 crore. Additionally, he inaugurated a new building for the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital, currently under construction and due to open in August 2024, at a cost of INR 3,250 crore. These projects are part of the government's commitment to promoting economic growth and enhancing the quality of life for its citizens.
