Irish Rowers and Swimmers Shine at Olympics

Irish athletes have had a strong showing at the Paris 2024 Olympics, particularly in rowing and swimming. Daire Lynch and Philip Doyle advanced to the final of the men's double sculls with a commanding semi-final performance, while Ellen Walshe and Daniel Wiffen reached the finals in their respective swimming events. Olympic champions Paul O’Donovan and Fintan McCarthy progressed easily to the semi-finals of the men’s lightweight double sculls, and Aifric Keogh and Fiona Murtagh also made it to the semi-finals in the women’s pair. Zoe Hyde and Alison Bergin, meanwhile, failed to progress in the women's double sculls. Team USA's Kristi Wagner and Sophia Vitas also advanced to the semi-finals in the women's double sculls.
