Zeekr Launches 7X Electric SUV in China

Zeekr, a premium electric vehicle maker under Geely Auto, has launched its first SUV, the Zeekr 7X, aimed at competing with Tesla's Model Y. Priced at 239,900 yuan (approximately $33,829), the 7X offers two battery options with ranges of 605 km to 780 km and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds. The vehicle features rapid charging capabilities, reaching 75% in just 10.5 minutes, and is set to begin sales in China on September 20, 2024, with a global rollout expected by the end of the year. Zeekr aims to deliver 230,000 EVs annually, building on a strong delivery growth of 66% in the second quarter. The company plans to introduce a right-hand drive version of the 7X for export markets, including Europe, by 2025. With the launch, Zeekr joins a competitive landscape of Chinese EV manufacturers vying to undercut Tesla's pricing.
