The first contestant, Utkarsh Baxi from Bengaluru, showcased his knowledge but ultimately lost a Rs 25 lakh question regarding the Mahabharata, which asked about the god who gifted a garland to Amba. Despite using lifelines, including 'Video Call a Friend' and 'Double Dip', he incorrectly answered with Lord Shiva and Lord Vayu; the correct answer was Lord Kartikeya. Utkarsh did, however, win Rs 3.20 lakh and showcased his musical talent by singing a song for Bachchan. The show introduced new features such as 'Super Sawaal' and 'Dugnaastra', allowing contestants to double their winnings. Bachchan's emotional opening speech set a sentimental tone for the new season.
