Small plane crashes in Portland
A small plane crash in Fairview, east of Portland, Oregon, resulted in the deaths of three people and significant damage to a row of townhouses on Saturday morning. The twin-engine Cessna 421C went down around 10:30 AM near Troutdale Airport, igniting a fire that engulfed at least four homes and displaced up to six families. Witnesses reported a loud explosion followed by smoke and sirens, with the fire rapidly spreading due to structural damage. Two individuals were treated for injuries at the scene, while one resident remains unaccounted for. The Federal Aviation Administration confirmed no distress call was made before the crash, and the National Transportation Safety Board is investigating. The incident has raised concerns about aviation safety in residential areas.
