Dr. Dre, Jimmy Iovine Open New High School

Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine have launched the Iovine and Young Center Academy at Morningside High School in Inglewood, California, aiming to provide an innovative education focused on interdisciplinary learning. The academy, opening in fall 2025, will initially serve ninth-grade students and expand to all grades by the 2028-29 school year. It seeks to prepare underserved students for careers in fields like technology and design, emphasizing collaboration and real-world applications. Iovine emphasized the importance of breaking down educational silos to equip students for the workforce, while Dre expressed a desire to inspire inner-city youth. This initiative follows their previous educational ventures, including the establishment of the Jimmy Iovine and Andre Young Academy at USC and another high school in South Los Angeles. The project is part of a broader effort to enhance educational opportunities in Inglewood amidst recent school closures.
