Body of Missing Woman Found in Miramar Canal

The body of 81-year-old Carol Tormey, who had Alzheimer's and was reported missing on July 21, was found in a Miramar canal along with her 2018 black Chevy Colorado. Tormey's truck was discovered by fishermen near Southwest 196th Avenue, south of Pembroke Road. Her family had been actively searching, distributing flyers, and using Apple AirTags for tracking. The body is believed to be Tormey's, but official identification is pending from the medical examiner due to the body's extended exposure to water. The search for Tormey also led to the discovery of multiple submerged vehicles, including a 2011 Honda Civic unrelated to her case.
