Liza Minnelli Announces Memoir for 2026

Liza Minnelli has announced her decision to write a memoir, set for publication in spring 2026, after feeling frustrated with previous portrayals of her life. The memoir will explore her childhood as the daughter of Judy Garland and Vincente Minnelli, her celebrated career, and personal challenges, including four marriages and struggles with substance abuse. Collaborating with her longtime friend Michael Feinstein, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalists Heidi Evans and Josh Getlin will also contribute to the project. Minnelli's change of heart came after a 'sabotaged appearance at the Oscars' and other dramatizations she felt misrepresented her story. The memoir promises to offer an intimate look at her life and career, reflecting both triumphs and tribulations. It will be available in hardcover, e-book, and audio formats, featuring archival material from the past 15 years.
