Oka Wins Men's All-Around Gymnastics Gold
Japan's Shinnosuke Oka won the men's all-around gymnastics title at the Paris Olympics, dethroning defending champion Daiki Hashimoto. Oka's victory came after a nail-biting contest where he capitalized on errors by top contenders Zhang Boheng and Xiao Ruoteng from China, who took silver and bronze respectively. This marks Japan's fourth consecutive win in the men's all-around at the Olympics. Oka's total score was 86.832, just edging out Zhang by 0.233 points. Hashimoto, a pre-event favorite and past Olympic champion, finished sixth after a fall on the pommel horse. Oka also contributed to Japan's gold in the men's team event earlier in the Games.
