Typhoon Shanshan Disrupts Travel in Japan

Typhoon Shanshan, a powerful storm with gusts up to 216 km/h, is approaching the Amami archipelago and has already caused significant disruptions in southern Japan. Major travel disruptions include the temporary suspension of bullet train services between Hamamatsu and Toyohashi, with potential cancellations expected later this week depending on the storm's path. Japan Airlines and All Nippon Airways have canceled numerous flights, totaling 116 domestic and six international flights, with additional cancellations planned as the storm progresses.
